Telegael's stop-motion studio provides multiple dynamic shooting bays within a 24,000 sq ft facility. The construction workshops and puppet fabrication spaces are fully equipped for on-site builds and maintenance. The studio provides experienced professional crew and comprehensive camera, lighting and grip packages including Dragon DMX programmable lighting system controlling up to 99 lamps, 7-axis motion control units and shooting bays with isolated power supply, cameras and capture computers on the 7000+ sq ft main floor as well as on-site Avid editing and compositing suites. The building offers office space, storage space, kitchens and car parks for use during production. Telegael's stop-motion facility is the only studio of its kind in the Republic of Ireland.
Telegael collaborates with Robin Lyons on its slate of stop-motion projects. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in all areas of developing and producing for stop-motion. Robin is the Managing Director of Calon, in Cardiff, Wales. He has had a career as an actor, writer and jazz critic, but for over twenty years has been writing and producing animation and children’s television. His credits include the BAFTA winning SuperTed and Hilltop Hospital, the multi-award winning Hana’s Helpline, and Igam Ogam, a Calon/Telegael co-production for Channel 5, S4C, TG4 and ZDF Enterprises. As both a writer and producer, Robin has developed content for cinema, television, web and mobile platforms. He is a founding member of the Wales Animation Movement, a visiting lecturer at the Catholic University in Milan, and Visiting Professor at the University of South Wales.
